Chelsea 3-1 Crystal Palace, Premier League: Post-match reaction
Chelsea dominated possession and even took the lead through a well-taken goal by Morata, but it was a game played without any real cutting edge, leading to plenty of frustrations on and off the pitch and a rather muted atmosphere.
Palace’s equalizer early in the second half sparked the match into more serious action, and eventually Chelsea shifted gears and proceeded to put the visitors away. Excellent response from the home team to the setback, especially after the substitutes entered the fray.
SIXTEEN in a row unbeaten. 16.
Well played, in the end.
KTBFFH.
- Hazard fit enough for the bench only, so Chelsea were unchanged from last weekend and Barkley starting was the only difference from two weekends ago.
- Hazard gets the assist a minute after coming on (for Willian) from the free kick. Kovačić (for Barkley) and Fàbregas (for Jorginho) completed the set of subs. Hopefully Jorginho isn’t hurt.
- Chelsea move into second place, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference and two points behind Manchester City, who absolutely destroyed Southampton earlier today,
5-16-1. - Next up: BATE away on Thursday
